Prof S.C. Bagri

Prof. S.C. Bagri carries 41 years of teaching, research, and administrative experience and started his career in 1980 as a lecturer at HNB Garhwal University. Prior to this, he obtained a master's degree from Allahabad University in 1976, an M.Phil. in 1978, a doctoral degree in 1988, and a one-year advanced course in cultural tourism from Italy in 1989. He was elevated to the post of professor at the Indian Institute of Tourism and Travel Management, Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, in 1995. He was the vice chancellor of Himgiri Zee University Dehradun from 2012 to 2015 and has published more than 60 research papers and 8 books besides his publication on ”Entrepreneurship Development in Tourism and Hospitality Management, published by IGI Global, New York, in November 2022, and another editorial work on Himalayan Mountain Adventure Tourism published by Apple Publication, London.

He was the editor-in-chief of the Journal of Tourism, listed in the UGC CARE list until 2020. He had also held the position of consultant of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), Madrid, for a year and was one of the members of the UNWTO team that developed the Tourism Master Plan of Punjab as well as the Coastal Tourism Development Plan of West Bengal state in 2007-08. Dr. Bagri was also the team leader of a research project on “OffbeatTourism Destinations for Ecotourism Promotion in Uttarakhand State, sponsored by GTZ Germany.

He had also completed more than a dozen major research projects funded by UGC, AICTE, ICSSR, the Department of Environment, the Government of India, and the Agricultural Finance Corporation, besides supervising more than 25 doctoral scholars. He was the Coordinator of Cost-Effective and Eco-Friendly Tourism in the Himalayan States, under the supervision of the NITI Aayog, Govt. of India, in 2020. He is on the panel of NAAC, the Government of India, and the University Grants Commission of India for the accreditation and approval of Indian universities and colleges and was the chairperson of the NAAC Peer Team in more than 45 PG colleges of India for the accreditations and was also a member of the UGC team in more than a dozen universities that applied for UGC approval under UGC Act 2(f) and 12(b). From 2021 to 2024, he was a member of the Indian Commission for Education for UNESCO. At present, Emerald Publication gave him the responsibility to write a book on climate change and human and wildlife conflicts in the Himalayas, expected to be released in December 2025.

Monisha Datta

Born into the family of scientists, educationists, and defense service professionals, she has always been encouraged to dream of the impossible and then to make it happen. She started her career as a software developer and corporate trainer after completing her master's degree (computer science) and later did an MBA in advertising. She has been the co-founder of The Doon Girls School and Dehradun Boys School and is currently heading the school as the Director (Strategic Planning and Training) and Life Skills Coach. She has also been the country head at the Learning Forward India Foundation from 2021 to August 2024 and has been regularly conducting workshops for teachers and heads of schools. She is actively involved in designing child-centric curriculum and pedagogies along with training the teachers to meet the demands of tomorrow. Her current areas of work involve understanding the global education systems and devising curriculum and pedagogies for early childhood education and young adults, based on global requirements and diverse needs. Besides this, she is a regular speaker at seminars and conferences and is actively involved in projects to do with mental health in youngsters and young adults. She conducts regular classes for the students of the diploma program at Raphael Ryder Cheshire Home, Dehradun. She is a trained vocalist, painter, and novice equestrian; a passionate wildlife enthusiast; a nature lover; an avid reader; and a trekker. ‘You learn till you die’ is her philosophy and driving force, which has led her to undergo an intense educators’ leadership degree from IIM-Calcutta post-Covid and is currently undergoing her MSc in Behavioral Science and Family Therapy.

Mondreeta Sengupta Das

Mondreeta is a paragon of versatility—an award-winning author, national-level swimmer, worldrecord-holding mountaineer, and corporate leader turned spiritual healer. Felicitated by former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and, in 2025, Nominated by the President of India under the “Woman – Lifetime Achievement” category, her journey defies convention. A psychologist, healer, life coach, and storyteller, she has trained global airline crews, served the American Consulate, and led leadership development at Reliance Industries as GM–HR. Currently Vice President (Toga), at Ministry of Tourism & Culture, she represents India to international delegations.
